The Amityville Horror House (112 Ocean Avenue)

The real house. Ronald DeFeo Jr. shot six members of his family here in November 1974, and the Lutz family fled after 28 days in 1975, which became the book, then the 1979 film, then a franchise. The address was changed from 112 to 108 Ocean Avenue and the famous quarter-round eye windows were removed, so tourists keep missing it. Still a private residence: look from the street, never knock.
