Danvers State Hospital site, Massachusetts
The entire film was shot inside the abandoned Kirkbride asylum on Hathorne Hill in autumn 2000, with almost no sets. Most of the building was torn down in 2007 and the site is now the Bradlee Danvers apartment complex, with only part of the central facade kept.
