  Hill House is this 1837 neo-Elizabethan folly near Grantham, toned down for the camera by blanking out its carved lettering and adding a porch. It is now Harlaxton College, part of the University of Evansville, and opens to visitors seasonally.

• Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire

  The Hill House kitchen scenes were shot at the Duke of Rutland's castle six miles from Harlaxton. It is open to the public.
