• Alabama Hills, Lone Pine

  The boulder outcrops where Val and Earl run from the graboids are these weathered granite hills below Mount Whitney, a location used in Westerns since the 1920s. The area is now a designated National Scenic Area with open public access.

• Olancha, California

  The town of Perfection was built from scratch on the flats off Cactus Flat Road east of Olancha. The set was torn down after filming, leaving only the dirt road and a replica City of Perfection sign put up by fans.

• Darwin, California

  Parts of the film were shot in this near-ghost town in the hills above Panamint Valley, and residents have kept a small museum of Tremors material. Darwin still has a handful of inhabitants and no services.
