  The 1882 hotel on the old town plaza is where Jack Crow and the turning Katrina hole up. It is still an operating hotel and has since appeared in No Country for Old Men.

• Los Cerrillos, New Mexico

  This former mining village on the Turquoise Trail stands in for the town of Santiago, and a large territorial prison set was built nearby. Cerrillos is still a tiny inhabited village with a dirt main street.
