0:00 right Chris welcome to the second ever episode of the Séance with horrormeet.com are you second guessing your decision to come on to a brand new podcast given that we've already had so many technical difficulties all right to the second ever episode of the Séance to horror me .com where horror fans get to sit down at the table with independent horror filmmakers my name is Landon Brittain LandonXXL on socials

0:50 and my name is Danny on socials it's oh hi Danny and our wonderful guest on the second ever episode of the Séance is Chris not today Chris we'll introduce yourself hi I'm Chris don't really I'm Chris don't really I am the founder of blinky productions and if you don't know who I am by now that's okay I just I make a lot of stuff a lot of stuff so so to get this set off yeah just explain a little more about who you are I looked you up on IMDB today and you had like 400 it's crazy how do you have 400 credits on IMDB I'm a I'm a working actor and I've got like 29 or something like that which I'm pretty

1:39 proud of I mean honestly 29 is not bad I have a lot of time on my hands I've been doing this for 22 years you know filmmaking and when you have a vendetta you know and you live for pure spite you tend to find the time to make a lot of things nice yeah nice so one of the you were one of the first ever collaborators with horrormeet.comm we we have a shelf on horrormeet.comm where we host links for independent horror filmmakers you want to tell us a little bit about that particular project the Kruger prequel yeah so this basically started around 2011 and I'd say it back 2010

2:28 I wanted to do a prequel for Freddy Kruger I thought to myself okay we've kind of reached the max of like what Freddy has done as a dream demon we've seen him you know go after the children's realm straight we've seen him fight Jason you know what part of the sandbox have we not played in yet and I thought to myself well what if we saw him alive and so that was where the idea came from and then I just started thinking to myself okay what can I do because doing Freddy Kruger as the springwood slasher is a period piece and I don't have access to the 70s so nor money to make things look like the 70s you can only put a sepia filter on so much

3:13 before you're like all right all right all right I see the Mazda in there get it out so I thought to myself okay what's something we want to see and I decided oh I got it let's do Freddy's arrest and the interrogation and the scene that led him out because then I just need an interrogation room and I can get rid of everything else so our first short was in 2011 and it was the interrogation of Freddy Kruger with Donald Thompson and we get to just see how much of a bastard this guy is how much of a jerk and how much he relishes in all of this and how he is manipulative and using leverage and targeting Don's child and all these things

3:53 and I just put it out there and it was part of my killer prequel web series where I had Freddy Jason and Michael and they were all prequels so for the Jason one I wanted to make a and this is interesting I'm like what if we did the story of how Pamela and sorry Pam Voorhees how Pamela Anderson's always on my mind right so I see the Freudian slip yeah so what if we did a story how about how Pam Voorhees lost Jason and how she went insane and developed the voice in her head yeah there's a series coming out now yeah I know I did it in 2011 I was just watching like a little a little advertisement for I think it just came out it's coming out

4:36 next week okay coming out on the 13th and 17th but anyway should be the 13th yeah but I think it's coming in on the Friday but regardless that was my first idea cuz I'm like we never really got to see Pam be Pam you know and how Pam became Pam so I did that and then I did one for Michael Myers where it's what happens in 1963 when he decides to kill Judith what was he before then and I'm like what if he was normal what if he was happy what if he loved his sister what if they're trick-or-treating together and she's a nice kid he's a nice kid and then something happens and he snaps and I wanted to show that so that was my killer prequel

5:15 web series that I did I put all three of them out in 2011 some time passed and then the Freddy one just started gaining more traction out of all three yeah and so I'm like all right well let's just do another one what can I do and I thought to myself what were some of the tropes of the 60s and the 70s when it came to zero killers and I'm like stranger danger everyone knows about stranger danger so I did that what if we saw Freddy hunting and we see him a duck this child in broad daylight from a playground simply by doing the your mommy's in the hospital you need to come with me and so then I put that out that

5:56 you know did really well in views and be like give us another one give us another one I'm like so then I did a third one and a fourth one I'm like all right that's it Freddy's gonna just like gut a kid this time Wow you know so I have a question just so you guys know you do you don't know my co-host very well yet but Danny is like he's I call him what I call you the other is a sommelier of horror but his favorite is Freddy Krueger he literally has a female dog named Freddy that was named after Freddy Krueger so I this is why I was like we're sharing a mic I'm like pushing the mic over to him cuz this is his time so

6:39 so so thank you first of all thank you Landon I appreciate that cuz we we both inspire each other he's an amazing human my first question is is as far as Freddy's nightmares because they did you know take him to court I don't know yeah I saw that episode and that was only one episode out of the entire series the rest of it was just tell us on the Crypt style stories yeah anthologies well that's what they thought that Freddy's nightmares was gonna be I thought it was gonna bring it back and that's why it was actually put on so heavily and then another thing that I was thinking maybe inspired you to do some of that

7:15 stuff was the final nightmare where you did see yeah Freddy's dead yeah Freddy's dead so I saw that and we actually just went to the 35th anniversary of it nice yeah I I did see those and that was always like alright this is kind of the playground I'm gonna be in this is the the part of it like we try to do an homage to his outfit from Freddy's dead where he had like the green shirt with the red underneath it but one thing I wanted to make crystal clear was that my version of Freddy was a pillar of society I didn't want any implications that this guy was weird beforehand to others we know who he is but I want the town to think

7:56 how nice Freddy is how great Freddy is and so I wanted to play that element up and I hammered that one home in part four of the web series where you see and also the part three were no it was also part four where he's dealing with his daughter he's a good father and then he's at the diner and you see these crying parents he's like I'll pray for your son that I murdered you know like oh you know and you just you get to see how much of a bastard he really is so the the goal behind that was just really to make it more believable the problem with a lot of the sequels essentially where they want cartoonish yeah you know and we're not

8:31 in the 80s anymore we're not even in the 90s anymore so I had to make something that felt real for the 21st century and how you do a serious take on Freddy no jokes no psych gags just a fucking monster being horrific to children and I that's the thing too I wanted to actually have him kill children and not teenagers that's interesting because as far as Freddy Cougar when as a character you know Wes didn't like what they were doing with him becoming a jokester mm-hmm and doing all that and people thought it it took back on whether you're afraid of Freddy yeah not and but that also leads me to the fact that Freddy was the first horror

9:11 villain that actually did speak and that actually wasn't just like a walking monster he yeah he was nuts and so I love that aspect that you took of that and I can definitely appreciate it as a fan to give us a whole new light because we were almost meant to believe because they did pedal back on the whole pedophile thing in the whole like try didn't want to answer that directly I viewed it more as this is hunting this is sport yeah and I think just in his hunt his bloodlust for children comes more from like when you're out in the woods and you see a deer you know you don't want to fuck the deer you want to eat the deer or something we're hoping you

9:52 don't want I'm hoping there's some people out there but regardless we're hoping so I took that element with Freddy and my version of him he's a hunter he's hunting these kids and I actually wrote 125 page feature script for this but it's a good feature because it's it explains Freddy it's his life yeah we go through his life we don't know from literally birth to death and then beyond as well and so just so you know a normal like horror horror feature is around like 100 to 110 pages so 125 is a sizable horror film so there's a lot it's more like an anthology like an extra 15 minutes but the goal behind that was to basically do

10:32 like Batman Begins for Freddy know you just just a solid story to explain who this man was get the audience into his mindset long enough so you can be like okay I see why he's doing it and then once he crosses that line and starts doing Freddy stuff like ah fuck you know what Chris I gained a whole new light on what you do and you've mentioned some things to me that are so what these franchises are missing because they you know they've tried to make these sequels and all this stuff but you're really more interested in who these people were before they were who they are and you put your own twist on it because

11:12 you're also adding into that story on your own there's out without the base of there's a very fine line with this yeah Rob zombie try to do it Michael Myers and he didn't do a good job in my opinion some characters you can't dissect some characters lend themselves to it that's interesting so for example Michael Myers I did a prequel for Michael Myers it was a short film obviously but that's the thing I know it can only be a short there's not enough to extend into a full feature Michael works best with mystery why is he doing this what he was normal and now he's not that is what makes Michael interesting once I try to define that and go oh he was

11:49 abused oh he was possessed by a demon oh he just got up on the wrong side of the bed then you lose that mystery and then you lose what makes Michael Myers interesting Freddy on the other hand we already had that backstory he was a monster we mentioned this in the very first film he was a monster he did all these things the parents lynched him so you have plenty to play with because now you have accounts from before the dream demon that you can investigate and open up and you know put your own personal twist on it same with Pamela Voorhees they even said in the very first film that a boy drowned and then a year later people

12:29 started dying and they closed the camp and then we find out it was Pam Voorhees and she says my precious Jason drowned so I murdered everybody 100 % and I love that we you know watching that movie as a kid I didn't understand it as much when I got older and then I appreciated it more than anything because you didn't see who the killer was right and then they gave us that element of surprise but I don't think anybody knew that they needed to know more no and now after really cool observation actually 100 % and after 46 years it's like okay now it's time we want to go back and we want to examine well what drove Pam- yes her child

13:06 died but at what point do you go okay my kid is dead I am now going to murder anybody who sets foot on this land and you can delve into that you can go into her pathology oh she's got a split personality Jason's talking to her she's nuts she well why is she nuts how does she get to be nuts etc etc well what's really cool when you when you think about it that way is they were capable of making those original films in with to where you were completely engaged in the universe but you didn't ask those questions because you were so involved with right story which is like like as I'm starting to become a little bit of

13:44 a filmmaker not nearly you know not nearly like you and not a director but I love the idea of taking an audience on a journey where they don't know they're going on that journey yeah and I did it in our little short that we did called ghost it I don't know if you've watched it but I wanted to tell a story that was a completely different story than what they were actually watching and then at the end they find out and they're like wait wait a minute what watch it again and they're like oh fuck yeah it was like ah so I that part of filmmaking really excites me and a lot of people don't realize that they want this yeah you know you get the

14:19 fans who see all the Friday 13th movies like I want to see Jason swing the machete yeah then after 12 films like all right he's swung the machete a lot at this point is there anything else we can do is there anything that's more fun or interesting and then it's like oh that's right I see your your dogs are dogs they're fighting your dog fighting in your house Landon as long as we're not betting on them anymore it's not Lee it's not illegal if you don't bet yeah exactly if the dogs fight they fight as we're sitting on a poker table we can play poker you just can't bet and make money on it oh my that that that definitely

14:56 brings me to something real quick cuz I have to to Jason's I really like I like Manhattan and I love goes to hell hey those are I don't like goes to hell but I do love Manhattan and I love Jason X yeah Jason X is ultimate cheese really it's so cheesy it's a fantastically cheesy they didn't even matter since just cheese no he goes to space you have a mongoloid who goes to space who can magically heal and then he gets turned into a cyborg at the end it's over there's an Android in there it's over the top that it's so stupid I love it well here's the thing came he just does great as Jason yeah absolutely is his whole movement

15:36 and everything that he's got going down for for Landon Landon might not know but Cain Holder is hotter hotter sir excuse me I always say that he's he's like he was what Jason did he come in three seven seven seven he did a new blood he did Manhattan he did goes to hell and then he did it he just has the most beautiful way of breathing and scaring the shit out of yours chest would by the way this is Gucci you can look him up on Instagram at Gucci to excel Gucci do you want to say anything that was really racist by the way it's becoming immediately apparent

16:24 to me that I'm sitting in between two like horror juggernauts and I am NOT on the level of these two some I'm just a mostly quiet let's ask you what is your favorite horror movie Landon started watching horse I've been I've been watching so this you know I wrote I wrote a horror script that we're probably we're gonna actually we're probably gonna shoot the short here so yeah and that and it was all because of Danny Danny thanks for the credit buddy I know well you know you got to give you some credit for you know you've almost made it through the whole script but it caused me to start horrormeet.com with with Danny

17:04 and now it's like kind of the last couple I guess the last month it's been like my life is horror movies like don't feel so bad I'll segue into your next question I didn't start watching movies till I was 16 I did read about this 16 cuz your parents thought that I would have nightmares yeah but what was the first one Halloween was my first one oh no wait was it the 78 original 78 yeah this I was I'm not that young look young in his cookies of fires we thought we were gonna see his wife his wife tell us she has a baking emergency right now Oh making donuts making donuts yeah so we'll talk about your wife a little bit later

17:48 finish your yeah so my very first horror movie I saw was 1978's Halloween I saw it in 1998 actually because H2O was coming out and I was like I kind of want to see what this is about no no so I was like I want to see what that was and my friend who was trying to sleep with me he's like we need to wait I had a friend in high school who definitely definitely wanted me I love Chris by the way so he's gonna be so easy to pull sound bites out he was looking for any excuse any excuse to just you know stay a little bit later he's like have you ever seen Halloween I go no he goes oh my god hand on my shoulder we need to watch it I'm

18:37 like all right all right Jesus let's watch it you know and then he's like you know would you hold me it's scary dude stop it so we watch we watched Halloween I go oh this is really cool and then that summer I just binged so I saw yeah open you up to a whole new much to watch I went to blockbuster yeah and I rented like a dozen movies and I just started watching one after another after another I saw all the Halloween's the Friday the 13th the Freddy movies Chucky scream you scared the shit out of me that and it when I was a kid I had I saw it I saw Carrie I saw they just made a remake of Carrie do you see that there's a yes yes there's a

19:25 fourth a fourth remake yeah well yeah yeah but they just made a series I think yes it is a series on yeah they just released it this week right yeah yeah and so yeah I'd 16 I just I binged everything and I was like okay I think I'm prepping ready for school next year to handle any other indecent proposals from your friends yeah I wasn't popular so I realized if I'm not gonna be popular I'm gonna have to scare some people in that sense we share yeah very awkward I'm good how are you as a kid were you cool I was like the coolest I'd watch all my horror movies with a girl named Christina butter Cavoli and we would go and rent them

20:02 together if you're seeing this Christina like we started or we would go to blockbuster is down the street which was brought me to another question we're talking about a lot of franchises but I was in those blockbuster years and I was grabbing movies I shouldn't have grabbed and some of them I remember like demons I don't know if you ever saw I know the demons so like there was I'm a people person so I'm more into slashers slashers yeah okay so there was also stuff like like the entity I was super freaked out by the entity because when we turned it on we actually found out it was based on true story out and here in California

20:36 that was crazy the more I realized some what I see no but I'll give it to you on VHS and I'll give you our CA to you can watch it how I watched it when I was sitting there on the edge of my bed when I was a kid I had like one of those little CRT TVs and I'd play Atari on it and it wasn't in my room as a sister room and I would have to sit on the edge of their bed with like my legs hang over their their baseboard and it would always cut the circulation of my legs and then like two hours later after playing combat or adventure whatever I'd get up and stand like fall that's what CRT TVs make me think of like the little black and white ones it was black

21:13 and white black and white yeah we were very poor yeah no circulation and no circulation no color my legs were probably white as well yes so the slasher films always got you man I just love how man you really really do love this stuff and he's just great I'm telling you mate he was my first he was he was I think you were the first person maybe to have a film up on HorrorMeet yeah and I think you were at the very bottom of the page which keep in mind if anybody wants to go out and watch is what it Kruger Tales from Elm Street Kruger Tales from Elm Street it was the first ever film on the horrormeet.comm shelf we can actually

21:55 take this time kind of like how we did last time I can do a little screen screen grab and I can show people how to navigate to it to click on it yeah are you do you have it like monetized on YouTube or unfortunately you can't monetize something like that okay there's like a rule with fan films that I like to abide by not everybody does but I like this is cool information you know um you don't own a fan film if it's not your IP you don't and so I'm using music that I clearly don't and I got music from Al Green Richard Chamberlain trying to think who else did I have in here not the Supremes but I use a lot of period music and it's like I that's

22:35 gonna automatically get flagged by YouTube so the best thing to do is just let it happen turn it off don't monetize it but go show but go show some support to him run up his his views go through the horror meat comm shelf to find it go sign up on horror meat comm we need more users we're filling it up but I'll be your best friend if you do Oh best friend he makes good cookies or his wife does at least I don't know that's it let's talk about my wife's cookies but is this a good time to talk about your wife sure absolutely yeah okay did you no no no I was I'm I was curious about the YouTube thing because that's something I had yeah I'll just give you a quick

23:17 overview if you're going to teach us you with all you've been you've been making films for 22 years I've been on YouTube since day one actually I'm an OG you you got I saw that you got a plaque I got the plaque finally after fucking 22 years what do you get the plaque for like you got it's for a hundred thousand subscribers a hundred thousand subscribers yeah it took a minute but this doesn't but so you can't monetize the films but can you monetize your channel no no I what's up I can monetize anything that I own and I it's not copyrighted but then subscribers to your subscribers are what you want right I want no no no no no no okay

23:56 explain the YouTube stuff the way you're gonna make money in YouTube is basically if you have ads on your channel and then someone clicks off of it so if your video is able to be monetized then that percentage goes up you get like a penny or something here it's very small but if you can very small numbers so obviously you want a viral video and obviously you want that they do not have any copyright strikes or infringements on it by the algorithm itself so for example if I put up an original movie on there it's eight to ten minutes long it already meets the standard criteria of length and if I'm using non copyrighted music or original

24:31 music and it's an original concept I can make some money off of it you know it's not gonna be a lot but it's just enough to get like a little bit of lunch money here and there yeah well and it really shocks me that you I mean you truly you genuinely love creating these products because you really don't you're not like it seems like you're not money-hungry you're not out as like trying to peddle and like there are a lot of I'm not gonna say his name right now but there are a lot of filmmakers out there that say oh as soon as they put something out here's my Kickstarter I need a hundred thousand dollars for my next

25:04 project and if we don't make the money we're not gonna make it that is bullshit first off because everyone has a schedule and you have to keep people coming to your channel I am the kind of person where let's just say I have a go fund me up and I'm asking for like two grand to do a short film if I don't make that money I'm still gonna make it or if I'm like I really can't afford to do it I can always just pivot and make something else that's more affordable yeah I'm not gonna go well screw you guys you didn't invest in my thing so now I'm not going to make anything cuz then no one's gonna come to my channel cuz I have no

25:35 new content and you and you come out with one about one short film one short film a month and I've been doing that for two years steadily prior to that I would do you know more than 12 films a year or less than 12 films a year depending on my workload but now it's like I'm doing this like clockwork specifically so I'm like all right I have to do 12 a year in a minimum so one of the things we were talking about when we had the little bit of time to catch up before the podcast started I did an audition for a company called asylum mm-hmm and I didn't know what I was doing at the time I was just excited to have an audition you know I'm still

26:10 a newer actor it was called predator wasteland I auditioned for two of the roles and then eventually they wanted to see me as predator I'm like oh my god it's so cool predators one of my favorite movies of all time with Arnold Schwarzenegger be so cool and I knew that I knew there's a predator movie coming up I didn't know enough about it to know that it wasn't the same you were a mock buster I got I got I almost got mock busted so explain we were talking about the it's not really even nuance it's bigger than nuance explain the difference because you'll take you take someone else's IP and you kind of like you make a fan film

26:46 and you make something that's come there is your story but based on other people's IP and you're honest and open about that yes whereas a sign I'm not saying asylum is doing anything wrong I don't want to get in trouble with anybody they make what we what you were calling mock buster yes and they'll take something like predator wasteland and they'll they'll change like one letter or something well it was actually predator Badlands that was yeah and they called a wasteland yeah and I literally I auditioned for the damn movie I guess I didn't get it unfortunately and then I knew predators coming out I was excited about it I hadn't done a lot of homework

27:26 and I don't have a lot of time to sit down and like check to see when things are coming out but I saw it pop up on my Amazon I'm like oh my god it's out it's only five bucks yeah and so I bought it and then I'm watching I'm like this doesn't feel this doesn't feel like the real predator movie and then I realize I realize it's the one that I auditioned for I get to watch the guy play my role I'm like dodge the bullet that I have a little piece of information for Landon that he's gonna love right now and I'm sure Chris knows this but do you know who was in the original predator suit before they just were like yes

28:05 I did Wesley six no nope let's let him guess for John club in there yeah I was gonna bring up this kind of a similar thing you're asking about the first like horror movie you saw I remember the first R-rated movie I ever saw with species you remember species yeah yeah well I'm fucking that was born in 82 you're my age you're his age okay 82 I'm 82 what you what month what month January oh yeah you're older than me I knew it I'm October that's why you make my cookies I'm October 23rd really oh

28:51 shit what are you doing we're gonna do some fun I have to leave I have to leave to shoot my big special comic book project right after that in Vegas but okay so so okay so explain so back to the asylum stuff yes I got a little sidetracked with the whole edition stuff but do you want to expound on that yeah so primarily a mock buster is a movie that is literally trying to prey on your lack of media knowledge media-savviness so if you are in the store or you're going to the theater or whatever primarily the mock

29:39 buster has never come to theater so what am I talking about if you're in the video store or if you're online and let's just say you're scrolling through a streaming service like Netflix or whatever and you just see the big bright thing that says transmorphers oh robots that's a right the Transformers movies right that's what that is let's watch that and you watch it like fuck am I watching because it's not actually transformers it's transmorphers but they're very disingenuous because they're trying to prey on the fact that you can't tell the difference they got me and that's how they get you that's how they get you so okay so

30:11 there was a question here that was really good way to do it it's funny because the ones I feel bamboozled for is I'm 20 minutes into them and I realized these guys are not speaking English okay okay this is one of the questions that wrote if asylum called tomorrow direct us a Krueger movie we'll call him Freddy Krueger with an ie 50 grand 15 days to be do you take it 50 grand for me or 50 grand for the budget I want to give you both 50 grand 50 well what do you think what do you think asylum would do it they would probably I think they're sub 500 ,000 they're probably something like that but here's a thing it was a 200 ,000 movie for

30:57 predator wasteland the thing is you know I obviously would probably get 50k if I get 50k sure I'm doing it I'm doing it for that yeah I would do it for the capitalism however I would ask for creative control okay and then what I would do is I'm not gonna have free D Krueger or free D Krueger that's a silly no no that's that was the question it's Freddy F R E D D I E not Y so that's that's the catch I'll tell it's locking you into a mock buster I'm a whore I'll do it without that is that is my only thing is creative control you give me creative control I give you a movie I think I think it's respectful and I will say so regardless

31:40 of what and and I don't want to make any I'm not saying judgment on asylum one way or another they are making movies they have them in a blue and orange letter are giving they are giving actors opportunities to act even though they didn't select me they're probably not gonna select me after this podcast comes out but okay but they are there you know they're making movies so and in a time where it's a little bit hard to find work it's they're giving actors opportunities to to be on screen so thank you asylum for that and everybody else judge them however you feel like it well they don't have to make those types of movies hey but no one's

32:16 asking you to do a mock buster guys you could do like your own thing you know you you can you can do Batman with baseball bats because that's what I did yeah I did I have a short film called Batman the Batman but he has baseball bats yeah that's that it's the Batman yeah he has a helmet he has I'm not wearing hockey clothes he actually hockey he is actually wearing hockey pads in this one but that's the thing he's a sports utility kind of guy and he just beats the shit out of you with baseball bats that's Batman so uh so Chris but we did a project earlier this year yes I don't know what I will talk about a little bit okay give a little teaser

32:57 cuz I sure I've got it sitting in my office right now and it's right over there actually it's really freaking cool and it's such a cool project I appreciate you so much for having me yeah be part of it so tell us a little bit about it and I have a couple follow-up questions so apart from filmmaking for 22 years solid I also now produce graphic novels but the difference is that they are photographic novels meaning they are books with photographs in the panels as opposed to artwork and it looks like a comic book but it's just with actual people yeah and so my latest doing another book in two weeks as well this

35:05 one it's an original concept called monster girl and which this teenage girl she gets murdered by a satanic cult and then she her soul gets picked up by this you know Cthulhu type entity doesn't look like a tool though and he's just basically hey I'm gonna send you back but you're gonna have to spill some the blood of the wicked for me you cool with that and she's like okay so she comes back and then she basically in the presence of evil hulks out into this monster with like tentacles and fangs and claws and shit and this is all gonna be pictures and so yes it'll be another book as well because I can't film that not with no money but I can

35:46 Photoshop the shit of a picture yeah that's it yeah no I've seen I've seen what you did and I was so freaking cool I absolutely I can't wait to get that out there yeah and then how many how many of those graphic novels have you done oh good question at least a dozen by this point last year I released a hardest worker in Hollywood where do you find them by the way where can we pick them up all my books are available on Amazon Kindle and print as well for some of them let's get them get them on print yeah it's so I've got the print I did and it is so worth it I did that Betty Boop inspired book last year that was with

36:21 your wife this year yeah we might what was in baby this year was at least January of 2026 was my Betty Boop book Lindsay had a cameo in that one Lindsay Bean is my wife you can look her up on Instagram oh her baking account is baked by Bean official that I highly recommend to go there because these cookies just currently having a baking emergency right yes a baking emergency make she's making donuts she's making the doughnuts she's making the doughnuts I'm going home I was a hundred pounds the cops away I was yeah I was like a hundred pounds lighter when I met her and she's amazingly beautiful person and we're still

36:57 growing inside but yeah so last this the year so that's your making account but does she have an actress she is an actress well which is a Lindsay Bean official or official Lindsay Bean one of the other camera we're gonna we're gonna tag all of these and I'll probably put like little things yeah Lindsay's gonna be in the new the Monster Girl book action she was also in the book that you were in yes you threatened to murder her couple of times and Betty Boop and then a bunch of original books prior to that one was called firstborn which is like a sci-fi version with terminated with aliens then another book was called decibel it's a superhero book blast

37:44 as a superhero book and then what else did I do I'm blanking on my own titles right now well you've got a lot I got a lot of stuff man yeah it's a lot and even when I I have like a page that's all my filmography all the stuff that I've worked on because I forget that I've worked on stuff the longer it's been you know yeah I get so ingrained like engrossed in my new project or like you know when when this thing comes out I'm gonna be promoting the shit out of your book that's all that's gonna be on my mind I literally have to like memorize my title so I can rattle them off like really really fast and I'm not even knowing I'm saying half the time but like

38:19 someone's like hey Chris what are some of the movies you make it I'm like Power Girl Batman , superhero just go through all that and everything Pretty much it's like the Animaniac star . I have a question real quick yes if I actually this is not a question I'm an idea guy and later I'll tell you and this has popped up to my head I have to say it so with these books something I would love to see if you ever do I would love to see it is a pop-up version or something that's not possible it's the quiet requires like mechanics of paper bechae it not paper shape or gami I can't do work and then what about 3d glasses I could in theory

38:58 do that I just fear that the print itself will be kind of messy I'd have to look into like I could do the red and the blue 3d glasses that's what I wanted yeah oh that sounds cool so just so you know it everything Danny is about like eighties like he loves the vintage everything like in theory I guess I could I could try that I I need to get myself some 3d glasses from a cereal box first . I have a bunch okay I actually have the original Freddy ones from nice from the movie theater from that uh from that era do you have do you have any horror graphic novels that we could put up on the estate sale on horrormeet.com oh yeah I

39:33 do I do I do we should figure should we out ways to promote so basically the estate sale on horrormeet.com if you go to the the furthest right door to go through it's it's basically a place where you can buy and sell mostly vintage horror stuff . The only thing that's on it right now is I put I should have it graded but I put on my night mariname Street 3 sealed the original not a remake . He's got a ton of vintage stuff . I have every single so I made that page just for him like that . It would be a cool place to put stuff like books and things you can buy . Starting next year I will have that to my memory three

40:12 horror graphic novels because I'm working on I guess my third one now but JJ flask private eye is a horror graphic novel that I put out in 2021 and then firstborn was 2018 I think and I said it's sci-fi horror and everything like that and then yeah the monster girl will be presumably my third I can I have to Google myself sometimes because I forget what I mean . And these are all I know I'm leaving something out this everything is available it's available on Amazon right now yeah that's amazing okay great I definitely want to look into getting into that Do get to want you into the Deadpool ? Sure hit me up . Okay so Marvel pulled Deadpool after three

40:52 episodes . Freddy has been on your channel 15 years and New Line never touched him what's the actual rule ? Okay so for the uninitiated I did a Deadpool web series in 2013 and that did get pulled by YouTube itself because Fox decided to get a stick up their ass and do a copyright infringement and I received two strikes on my channel which is near fatal three strikes you're out and that's and this is this is the channel with all the subscribers . This is the channel with all my subscribers So you went from like getting a placard from them to getting two strikes . Well flip that . I got two strikes work those off takes a year to get rid of those

41:27 strikes and then I finally got my placard so the situation was I did the Deadpool web series and it started going viral a comic book movie promoted it I think superhero hype or whatever and I got like 10 ,000 views in like a week on just one episode like oh this is doing really well and then all of a sudden just as I'm about to drop the third episode I get the copyright strike and everything and like what gives ? So on top of it 13 other Marvel related fan films fan films that were favorited by Marvel's official YouTube channel were flagged also Wow . My Punisher web series , Electra , Daredevil all these were just gone overnight and I was

42:07 like well shit what the fuck so I reached out to Fox and I said why ? To which they said you made us look bad I go what are you kidding me and they said you made us like why hire me for God's sakes if I am making something that is driving news or talking about more IPs work with me Yeah there's no no no publicity is bad publicity . Exactly so no there's no such thing as bad publicity . No such thing as bad publicity . Yeah so I got mad about that and then I worked off the strikes and everything and now my channel is good but I just was too intimidated to put them back on my channel I have a backup channel that they're on now that you know gets less

42:49 traffic but it's not gonna mess up my main channel if I lose the backup channel I'm fine but it was it definitely was a big setback for 2014 where I basically didn't make much of anything that year and I just took it a year off to just kind of be like to get my head straight I was panicked I was worried I was fearful that if I made another fan film I was gonna get eat but one thing I did notice and getting to your question is Warner Brothers is a little bit more chill with everything . Yeah . DC , Warner Brothers , New Line are all under the same blanket . Even back then they were . DC was owned by Warner Brothers and New Line

43:30 was already a subsidiary of Warner Brothers I believe . We're getting real close to Skynet . Yeah Skynet it's all owned by one company now . Pretty much . Now that Paramount's taking over at Warner Brothers . I know and they're called Skydance . I know how close you're gonna get . I didn't even put that together . Yeah so . What is it called Monopoly ? Yeah . So basically I had always known over the years that Warner Brothers was more cool with my stuff specifically in 2006 ironically I was at the movies watching a Warner Brothers movie I was watching Stranger Than Fiction I'm pretty sure that was a Warner Brothers film with a Will Ferrell .

44:07 Yeah . Regardless I got a phone call . I get the phone call at the theater I go out to take and I go hello and they go is this Cristiano really yes who is this this is so and so from Warner Brothers legal department okay great how can I help you and they're like like it's not there any I'm like what can I do for you and they're like we just want you to know that we know what you're doing uh-huh we have a file on you uh-huh and we just want you to know that the fuck am I supposed to do with that yeah I'm like you gotta file me yes we do are you gonna hire me no we're not well then fuck off are you hiring are you season to say I was yeah they

44:50 just wanted me to know that they were watching me and then I gotta follow quality insurance call from Warner Brothers pretty much the legal department I got another phone call like about 2007 2008 a follow-up from them as well and I was like are you guys gonna hire me no I'm like stop calling but I have never had an issue beyond just them telling me that they are aware of me yeah and I was like okay great so I always felt a little bit more fearless when I was doing a DC superhero or something like that as opposed to dealing with you know Fox and Disney and now that now that Disney owns Fox I was like ha you fuck you guys you

45:32 got eat hi this is Warner Brothers we're calling to tell you that your car insurance do you have 30 seconds to hear about the Jesus Christ our Lord say get your number from oh my number is actually very easy to define if you have like I mean if you guys are watching this I saw it on I saw it on a bathroom stall the other day yeah I knew it but yeah no if Warner Brothers wants to find a way to call you they'll find a way to call you and then that was the end of that basically so basically regarding like copyright and doing these things you have to just take it to again there is a chance that you could get targeted

46:15 but given how the algorithm primarily just buries my stuff I'm not so worried anymore these days especially I think now in this new era of as long as people are talking about our brand we don't care but you seem pretty lenient on the fact that like look if it's gonna get me in trouble I'm not here for that I'm here to make yeah I'm here to have fun I'm here to do this I'm not here to bother anybody no no I don't want to bother anybody but if if somebody wants to bother me I have no problem complaining to the media and making a huge spectacle out of it that's good when the situation occurred with know you the predator situation

46:52 out of context that's hilarious I got I got a lot of messages from a lot of news outlets asking me my opinion and I thought to myself I could just straight-up attack or I could go I don't want to say that I see similarities but it's hard to dismiss you know like I'm not trying to imply anything but it's hard to dismiss some of the similarities here and just you can make up your own decision and that's that's how you really get under their fucking skin because if I if you just attack someone and go they stole my idea right well now you're the aggressor and then they can see you but if you go I don't want to cause a fuss

47:29 here but you know it's hard it's to deny certain things that I do you want to explain what you're talking about because we talked about it before the the podcast with the predator prey yeah so I don't know if that's I forgot yeah I never know what's on limits I know so in 2019 I released a fan film called warrior predator in which two predator sisters take on a Native American woman pre-colonial Native American woman set in the 1500s and really similar to a movie that game that was my movie and I released that on Christmas Eve of 2019 I announced the movie back in October and I had the idea way back when in like 2015

48:12 I thought to myself what am I gonna find somebody this is another fan film yeah there's a fan film you're taking their IP right you're making your own use of it yeah because and you're not monetizing it you're just no no no no I'm trying to make something entertaining just wanted to make a fun movie was like seven eight minutes long okay you know as a short little film no dialogue either just a Native American woman fighting two predator sisters and at the goal was can I tell an action movie was zero dialogue yeah it's also probably hard to find somebody to speak you know 15th century I mean I had a Native American woman who is

48:47 officially part of the Chaka tribe so yeah but she didn't want to talk to I want my goal was just to make something universal that anybody could watch and understand and I didn't have to have any kind of subtitles whatsoever the sisters talked to each other but they're just going you know so it didn't matter what they're saying that was pretty thank you so I released it and everything and then in November of 2020 Fox announces that they're doing their movie prey essentially and I'm like what what is it you've seen great so great yeah so the parallels that praise about I'll get to that okay so what I knew at the time was in 2018 there was

49:32 the predator movie and then I knew that Dan Trachtenberg was making a movie that was predators right Fred it the predator the predator the predator okay they put a lot in front of it that wasn't the one where all the people got brought no no no that was predators from 2010 I love that that was a good one of my favorite like I think that's my second favorite past the original yeah it is it's really the predator from 2018 was written and directed by Shane black who seriously needs to get an editor he was in the original movie yeah he was the guy with the glasses in the comic books I have a Shane black story that's nuts we'll

50:07 get to that yes after but anyway so what happens is so what happens is I thought okay I'm gonna make my own I knew of Dan Trachtenberg's movie because I saw a press release that he was making a movie about a Native American woman called skulls and it's pre-colonial and I was like oh cool whatever whatever and then in 2020 they announced skulls is gonna be now called prey and I'm like whoa whoa you're telling me it's a predator movie a pre-colonial Native American predator no it's a little little too close to home so I then proceed to email Trachtenberg directly I email his agents and I email the people at Fox and I go listen to what they said he told

50:49 me before I was like they I said and I sent them a link to the film and first off they go we don't understand what your problem is here I go well look at the movie is this not what you guys are doing right now and then they so we see we've seen your movie you see in your movie and we assure you that prey is nothing like your concept I said okay so it's not about a pre-colonial Native American woman fighting predators no it's one predator it's a man male predator and that's it that's the difference and I was like really the whole the whole the whole like gravitas of that idea is the pre-colonial Native American woman taking on aliens it doesn't

51:29 matter if it's one it doesn't matter if it's two it doesn't matter if they're male or female it's the same freaking concept so I was this predator has she her yeah so I was a little peeved about the whole situation and then of course you know thankfully people who see my fan film started going whoa wait a minute and they drew their own parallels so then I knew I started getting some press about this and I knew if I was going to do any kind of interviews I'm not gonna throw shade at anybody because I don't want to get myself blacklisted if I'm not already so I just then basically said I'm gonna leave it up to the viewers to decide

52:04 what they think is going on right now but it's it's very hard to deny some of the similarities and that's what we call being media trained yeah if you're gonna work in the entertainment industry for very long I think you have to you have to watch your words and even with this podcast we're solely commenting we're not and I'm not I'm not giving you my opinion on whether I think it was the same concept but uh you know it is hard to deny some of the similarities landed yeah now we're gonna I it's making me want to watch predators again I really like that movie well I mean either way I've congratulations to you for putting something out there then

52:43 got to it's not the first time that Hollywood is thinking like that yeah it also it's all sure that's off it also begs a question why the hell haven't they just picked you up on a team even if not for being a director for being a consultant I've asked those questions many times I was like why don't you know what Hollywood why don't we give this guy a shot I'm cost-effective I'm cheap he knows I'll bring baked goods he's not joking about me good I'm ready for another cookie actually and on that I think we should probably wrap it up what do you is there anything else that you wanted to talk about oh wait no we gotta do the lightning round do the lightning

53:22 round lightning round okay this is Danny section okay okay so the way the lightning round goes this is our first time doing it because last time we didn't have the plane jet for the Ouija board so these are seven questions that Chris has not heard yet okay and what you're gonna do is use the Ouija board to answer yes or no okay okay so I'm gonna start the lightning round this is my first time doing it and I get to pick these questions I'm really excited and the first one I'm gonna go with is one that I like a lot because I've only heard this happen once Chris have you ever been scared of any of your own films no

54:09 okay okay okay we got our first note okay would you make a seventh Kruger chapter if new line asked and paid I knew that was gonna be a yes these are all very funny okay so did prey rip-off warrior predator I knew he was going centerfold today okay let's do one more this one was interesting to me because honestly I love something we can learn and something I learned would you trade your hundred thousand subscribers for 1 ,000 paying patreon

54:56 members no no because you worked harder on that stuff I care about my viewers yeah that's your audience it's the art man it's about the art I'm not and that I think that some I mean that get kind of sums you up as a human too is like you're doing you're genuinely creating your own art you're not like money-grabbing you know there's a there's a serious distinction in the type of creator that you are and that actually falls really in line with your answer on that like in my mind I'm like hell patreon pays the bills if you get enough of them my friendship isn't behind a paywall yeah that's a clip we're gonna clip

55:38 that 100 % and then my next question is basher and a real sub genre it is now yeah and then and Landon I feel like you can make up a good question for this go ahead just off the top but this is your section I question there was one question on there I think you had to do me okay is Landon a better actor than Roberto Lombardi all right guys so one more question where can we find you just wrap this up where can we find you on

56:26 socials and also I wanted to ask you where does blinky come from I'll get to the I'll get that question first so also what was there was a follow-up question on you just asked one of the lightning questions and it seemed like there was more to it well oh the sub-genre the show yeah explain the sub-genre real quick so I actually pioneered the basher genre in horror it's a sub-genre in which the killer bludgeoned someone to death brute force my very first feature was called methodic in which I wanted to make a movie and I want to do a slasher but I'm like wait a minute everybody stabs everybody yeah what if someone specifically

57:02 just dedicated their time to beating the shit out of you blunt force trauma yeah and so I created methodic my character was the dull man and yeah it's the world's first basher movie and that was what I was selling them now getting to your other question which was where blinky came like a Simpsons reference it's not ironically is so I was diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome when I was a kid I actually have probably undiagnosed threats I don't know if you've noticed my game recognize game actually when I'm around somebody with Tourette's it gets worse so what I did was when I'm on like camera though like it's a little harder you're

57:40 gonna I'm gonna give you a little cheat code yeah so Tourette's only exacerbates when you're nervous yeah so I purposely try to mean common every situation and I'm never nervous yeah I've had cops put guns on my face isn't like that way so I got diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome and in the third grade which messes with you yeah and seventh grade I got sick and tired of it and I'm like you know what I want to harness this so I started like meditating and everything and I'm like I think I got this right I end up going to a new school in eighth grade and first like week or so I thought to myself I'll just call myself oh fuck eighth

58:22 grade yeah let's get that out all right so seventh grade I'm sure you did you were watching blockbuster movies with Sally loved it so seventh grade I tried to get a you know a grip on it but the internet just came out so my mom was like you know you want to have an AO and some messenger name like okay what should I call myself and I was already trying to one of the things I learned was deflect and make a joke if I was blinking excessively like all right well let's just do a staring contest ah fuck you win yeah you know yeah so I'm like so like self-deprecating yeah yeah and so I just gave myself the name blinky because that was mine you lean

59:01 into it I lean into it yeah yeah but then eighth grade roles are on you for knowing that thank you I didn't know anybody in this new school yet I hadn't told anybody no I hadn't told anybody this nickname that I had given myself and this one fucking kid comes walking me goes out of the way blink you go what what I was like are you kidding I gave myself it in seventh grade and this fucking idiot calls me blinky out loud I'm like ah shit that's gonna be the nickname all right that's what we're doing and I went I went public with blinky at that okay and so I basically said you know what fuck it I'm gonna turn this into something

59:40 and so I named my company blinky and that was that that's that actually it's really home with me yeah that's that's a great story yeah and then your final question what am I up to right now I well you could find me blinky 500 on all social media that would be the twice yeah blink twice if you want to find me YouTube Instagram blinky 500 Facebook blinky 500 and then you just look up Chris not a really no day not really and that's pretty much it I'm very easy to find one of my it's probably gonna be one of my favorite can you turn on the voice for me set

1:00:39 me up I can actually do it without it in general so this is my normal voice when I want to do it all first right that's the time

1:01:30 using monster all right guys for everyone watching at home that was episode two of the Séance through horrormeet.com I am Landon this is Danny this is Chris and we are signing out and tell oh wait wait we gotta do the thing ready good bye keep the lights off oh yeah goodbye now you know now we know goodbye and that's
