Where was The Fog (1980) filmed?
8 locations on the HorrorMeet Atlas.
- Point Reyes Lighthouse
The 1870 lighthouse and its long descending stairway stood in for the Antonio Bay light that houses Stevie Wayne's radio station KAB. It is still a National Park Service site inside Point Reyes National Seashore and open to visitors on posted days.
- Stevie Wayne's house, 12830 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
Adrienne Barbeau's character lives here in the film, on the road running north through Inverness along Tomales Bay. This is a PRIVATE RESIDENCE: view it from the road and do not approach the house.
- Drakes Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore
The wide pale-cliffed beach used for the film's shoreline scenes. It is a public beach with a visitor center and remains almost unchanged.
- The Tides Wharf, Bodega Bay
The working fishing wharf served as the Antonio Bay docks where the Sea Grass crew meets the fog. The Tides is still a restaurant and fish market on Highway 1, and the same wharf appears in Hitchcock's The Birds.
- Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Sierra Madre
Father Malone's church, built in 1888 and on the National Register of Historic Places, sits 400 miles south of the Marin County coast the rest of the film was shot on. It is still an active parish, and the driveway seen in the film has been removed.
- Shoreline Highway, Point Reyes Station
The main street of this one-block town played the streets of Antonio Bay. The storefronts are still recognizable and the town remains a working ranching and tourist stop.
- Canyon Country Store, Laurel Canyon
The Laurel Canyon landmark grocery appears in the film's Los Angeles pickup shots. It is still an operating market and deli.
- Olema, California
The village on Highway 1 at the mouth of Olema Valley was used for the centennial statue unveiling sequence. It is still a tiny crossroads settlement with an inn and a general store.
